Premonitions of a Pessimistic Optimist

I await the first pitch of the fifth and last game between the Yankees and the Tigers. I am optimistic but strapped in for failure, doom and recriminations.
On the side of light is that we are home – this is something we fought for all year. We had a better record in a much tougher division. But Detroit finished better than we did – I may look back at this fact with gloom or a shrug of the shoulders.
Ah, we’ve given up two home runs in the first inning. Forget this happiness stuff – all is dark, laughable.
But still, if the Captain gets on ….

I’m sick already…..especially after leaving Texeria on 2nd after his double. The Yanks are staring at these strikes too…I mean…swing !
