On Getting Beat to the Punch

It is simultaneously annoying and gratifying when you see in print an idea you’ve had yourself. This was my reaction in seeing, in Saturday’s NY Times (12-18-10) the following article by Patricia Cohen, Conversation Across Centuries With the Father of All Bloggers.
It was just the other day when, in my post Montaigne: the First Ascent, I announced my plan to blog both on Montaigne and the new book by Sarah Bakewell, How to Live – Or a life of Montaigne in One Question and Twenty Attempts at an Answer. Integral to my plan to was to discuss Montaigne as a blogger. I’ve thought this for quite a while, I swear I have!
So, read the article, it is unfortunately very good.
