Food for Action

In Tribes , Seth Godin writes “Organizations that destroy the status quo win.”
I had an important con call coming up with the Team to introduce a change in how we sell. I want us to sell only to true believers in SaaS (software as a service) – or at least those wide-open to learning about it. The challenge lies in walking away from prospects that are indifferent to SaaS. ‘Walking away’ sounds good in a meeting but is hard to do when staring at your quota number.
I knew that we needed to move boldly but I wasn’t feeling the mojo an hour before the call. I needed a jolt. I picked up Tribes and read the sentence above. I underlined it. I wrote it in the mind map that I was using to prepare. I read a few paragraphs past that sentence but then stopped — I had my intellectual double espresso at hand.
